Mismanagement, not trade, is at fault for water shortages

Water study by Royal Society of Engineers ignores the many benefits free trade has brought poor countries and blames global water shortages on UK imports of “water-rich” goods like flowers and food.

Trade has brought huge gains to developing countries - more jobs, higher incomes and greater welfare. Freezing trade will harm poor countries and won’t improve water management – the real culprits are governments and special interests that waste water.
