This report shows what happens when governments get out of the way and enable entrepreneurs to flourish. A joint report released by International Policy Network, a London-based development charity, and Istituto Bruno Leoni, a Milan -based think tank, shows what happened when the Kenyan government allowed private companies to compete against the government-owned telecommunications company. This report formed the basis of a BBC Newsnight documentary (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6241603.stm) which won the Diageo Africa Business Reporting Award 2007.
