Global Warming - A European Myth
IPN Press release
On Monday 18th June, Professor Philip Stott of London University, SOAS, will speak at the IEA about 'The European Myth of Global Warming'.
He will argue that:
the Kyoto Protocol on climate change will not work - it is scientifically unjustified, economically harmful, and politically unfeasible;
there are far better ways forward, especially with regard to poor countries;
the position taken by European governments is deeply hypocritical.
He will draw a clear distinction between the European myth, or grand narrative, of 'global warming' and the complex history and science of climate change. He will end by calling for a more adult debate on both the science and economics of climate change within the U.K. and Europe, concluding that it was sadly inevitable that the EU would be 'Bushwhacked' over the Kyoto Protocol.
You are invited to hear Philip Stott speak:
On: Monday 18th June, 6.30 pm.
At: the Institute of Economic Affairs, 2 Lord North Street, London SW1
