Paul Reiter is a British scientist who has devoted his entire career to the epidemiology of mosquito-borne diseases. His reputation for original research and innovative solutions brought him to the US, where he worked for 22 years as a researcher in the Division of Vector-borne Infectious Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2003 he was appointed Professor at the Institut Pasteur, Paris, where he is in the process of establishing a new unit of Insects and Infectious Disease.
