IPN is pleased to welcome Gia Jandieri, who will discuss the economic reforms and progress towards free markets in Georgia and the region. He will also address the geo-strategic issues of energy and Russian expansionism.
Gia Jandieri is vice-president and founder of the New Economic School, Georgia, a libertarian think-tank. In 1989, Mr. Jandieri with several friends founded the Association of Young Economists of Georgia – the very first civil society organisation in the Soviet Republic of Georgia and whose goal was to eliminate the obligatory study of Marxism at the Tbilisi State University.
After several years in public service (parliament, state audit, central election commission), in 2000 he decided to leave and set up the New Economic School, Georgia, a think-tank with the goal of supporting free-market economic education in Georgia and the region.
As an economist, Gia Jandieri has participated in numerous discussions and public forums promoting free market public policies.
