Angola

Angola emerged from a 27 year civil war in 2002, during which time its health infrastructure was severely damaged. Rates of malaria and other communicable diseases are high. Despite having lower than average health indicators, the Angolan government still inflates the price of medicines between 2 and 3% via import tariffs. It also levies a consumption tax of 2% on drugs.
