98% of the population of Antigua and Barbuda live in Antigua. The government provides 70% of total health spending, with a commitment to provide eventually universal coverage.
Comparatively, tariffs on pharmaceuticals are high and have increased significantly in the past 4 years. This is possibly because pharmaceuticals are a primary export of America, with whom Antigua and Barbuda has had a number of WTO disputes, most notably over internet gambling.
