Congo Rep.

Like its neighbour, DR Congo, the Republic of Congo also suffers from a severe lack of investment in healthcare: government expenditure accounts for only 1.2%, or $26 per capita (compared with $726 in Botswana). Unsurprisingly, health care provision is practically non-existent except through foreign NGOs, even though the country is rich with natural resources. Rates of corruption are amongst the highest in the world. Tariffs on medicines are set at 5%.
