Kenya

Kenya's population is predominantly rural, and mainly poor. There is a high rate of infectious disease, and the health system fails to provide effective care. Further problems have been caused by the 2007 political crisis, which forced people to discontinue treatment, exacerbating drug resistance for diseases such as tuberculosis and HIV /AIDS.

Kenya imposes an 8 per cent port charge, a 1 per cent clearance and freight charge and a 2.75 per cent charge for pre-shipment inspection.
