Kuwait

Kuwait's health system is a combination of the private and public sectors. The public sector is paid for through oil revenues, which account for 95% of Kuwait's export revenues. Owing to Kuwait's small population and numerous medical facilities, long waiting lists are almost unheard of. However, specialist treatment is in scarce supply in Kuwait and those who can afford it go abroad. Tariffs on pharmaceuticals have been reduced in recent years from 4% to zero.
