Malaria is significant problem in Madagascar, as is a lack of clean drinking wateróin rural areas, only 36% of the population have access. Madagascar's Ministry of Health estimates only 60 - 70% of Madagascar's inhabitants have ready access to primary health care, mainly those who live near roads. There is no tariff on pharmaceutical imports.
